The "KAT" stands for Knowledge-A-Thon. In spring the students, teachers, staff, and PTO volunteers participate in a unique learning experience. Students are asked to study curriculum questions chosen by their teachers, and at the WildKAT Challenge they are asked the questions and also participate in a STEM challenge. Corporate sponsors are needed and students get pledges for participation and/or answering questions correctly. This event is a very large and a separate committee is established to ensure we are prepared. Volunteers are needed!
The Knowledge-A-Thon is our school’s primary
fundraiser, allowing children to showcase their
knowledge while raising funds for our school.
Community sponsors help fund the event and all
children receive a t-shirt with one lucky contestant’s
design on the front.
Last year, 2017, Preble High School students' donated their time to help with this event. Students enjoyed a visit from community mascot's, knowledge testing, face painting, and other various activities including a fundraiser to Chucky Cheese after school for family and friends.
