Milk Carton Recycling
Milk CartonThe Green Bay Press Gazette visited Wequiock School to recognize their recycling efforts and wrote an article in  Saturday's (May 6th) paper on milk carton recycling.
(New this spring, Tri-County Recycling is allowing milk carton recycling, and Wequiock is the first school in our district to begin to recycle milk cartons at lunch time.)
It all started in January when a group of students in 4th and 5th grade approached Mrs. Lange asking why we don't recycle more containers at lunch.  That prompted a call to our Food Service Director and she connected us with the milk carton recycling coordinator and we became a school in the pilot.  The students made posters and announcements to teach the rest of the students what could be recycled at lunch now.  Since then, Mr. Jerry has reported that we use TWO fewer bags of garbage each day at lunch.
